The Bajcsa gasfield was originally developed in the 1980’s using vertical wells and standard completions.  Production from these low permeability sandstone reservoirs recovered only about a quarter of the gas-in-place.  Modern techniques should be able to recover substantially more of the gas and a horizontal well has been designed that can be expected to substantially increase both productivity and recovery.  The drilling of this Bj-28 well awaits final approval.
